Why take this test?
The liver is the largest solid organ in the body. It removes toxins from the body's blood supply, maintains healthy blood sugar levels, regulates blood clotting, and performs hundreds of other vital functions. The test measures how well the liver is performing its normal functions of producing protein and clearing bilirubin, a blood waste product including measuring enzymes that liver cells release in response to damage or disease.

Before you book
Do I need to fast?
Tests that include glucose, insulin or cholesterol are best taken after fasting for 8 to 12 hours. Drink water as normal. Your booking confirmation includes clear instructions.
What is the difference between a clinic and a home visit?
With a clinic visit you go to a partner clinic near you. With a home visit, a qualified clinician comes to your home or workplace to take your sample.
When will I get my results?
Results for this test are usually ready in 2 days after your sample reaches the lab. We email you when your report is ready.
