Why take this test?
This package provides an insight into your levels of key hormones including testosterone, oestradiol and sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) to assess whether your values are within a normal, healthy range. Other parameters included in the package include albumin and an F-test value.
In men, the amounts you have of all of these analytes can have an impact on several traits such as your sex drive, levels of energy, sperm production and muscle mass. Abnormal levels of these hormones could therefore lead to symptoms including; loss of libido, erectile function or infertility.
Liver disease or the use of steroids can all have an impact on the levels of hormones in your body.

Before you book
Do I need to fast?
Tests that include glucose, insulin or cholesterol are best taken after fasting for 8 to 12 hours. Drink water as normal. Your booking confirmation includes clear instructions.
What is the difference between a clinic and a home visit?
With a clinic visit you go to a partner clinic near you. With a home visit, a qualified clinician comes to your home or workplace to take your sample.
When will I get my results?
Results for this test are usually ready in 2 days after your sample reaches the lab. We email you when your report is ready.
Who can see my results?
Only you, and anyone you choose to share them with. Your results are stored securely in your BioHealthcare Hub account.
